Junior Space Software Project Manager (FR)

FENTISS is a leader in software products and solutions for space. With headquarters in Valencia, Spain, we deliver cutting-edge software solutions for the space industry across Europe, from mission-critical onboard systems.

We’ve recently launched our affiliate in Toulouse, France, the heart of European aerospace. This new team will play a key role in expanding our capabilities in flight software, providing support to both French and international customers. Our long-term vision includes becoming a key software partner for new space missions and ECSS-qualified flight software development in France and beyond.

Responsibilities

As our Space Software Junior Project Manager, you’ll coordinate project execution end-to-end:

  • from detailed planning and status reporting,
  • to financial justification and funding applications (Horizon Europe, ESA, national R&D).

You will work closely with engineering, finance and business-development teams to keep our space-software projects on track, on time, on budget, and aligned to customer and grant requirements.

  • Maintain and update project plans (Gantt, milestones, resource allocation).
  • Produce periodic progress reports: technical status, financial burn-rate, risks & mitigations.
  • Prepare and justify funding deliverables (technical annexes, budgets) for Horizon Europe, ESA, French/Spanish national calls.
  • Liaise with R&D, software engineering and customer teams to gather inputs.
  • Support proposal writing: draft sections, compile appendices, coordinate reviews.
  • Monitor grant compliance, track KPIs and coordinate audits.

Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering, Project Management, or equivalent.
  • +1 years of project coordination experience (ideally in space/defense).
  • Excellent planning & reporting skills.
  • Strong written and oral English and French.
  • Prior exposure to European Commision/ESA funding cycles (valuable).
  • Financial modeling or budget-tracking tools experience (valuable).
  • Spanish language skills (valuable).
